Our Bundy Bear channel is a video archive of things that go on In Bundy Bears Shed. Our hobby is restoring vintage tractors and engines, and machining any parts we need for those restorations with a few jobs for friends and sometimes customers.
We keep it light hearted and after being a Diesel Fitter on agricultural machinery, mainly tractors, since 1977 I hope I can pass on a few hints and tips I have learned over the years and in the process of doing that learn new things and make new friends.
So come on into the Bundy Bears Shed, and like our videos and subscribe.

These video are gold ! Thanks Lance.
Bloody nice stew Lance, thank you. Fancy getting up the kid for not finishing the job.....just like his Granddad...lol. That one-man Cheese Board looks really noice. Keep up the good work. Geoff.
Very good and better information for my pump, thank you
Bloody hell Lance,,That gate looks very professional,,It must be costing you a fortune in money and time to set this rally up,,Wish I could come to it 😂😂 see if you can trap News fingers in it on the day 😂😂😂👍🤠🚜
Nevs finger 🙈🙈 autocorrect doing its thing again 👍🤠
Great short!
Another great Stew Lance! Sounds like your'e having fun with Nev, shame really after all your effort to get the rally underway! The boards look excellent, sure they would be very popular!
M.
Exelent video !
Thanks! Would that particular kit work for a long 445 3 cylinder fiat utb? I've ordered a kit but it wasn't spared. Think I might trust sparex more.
I meant sparex
Yes it it is the CAV rotary pump it will.
Great stew as usual Lance. Old Nev. can be a pain in the arse. Every club has those sorts of members. Their main activity is to criticise good ideas and fund raisers but we push on in spite of them. Bread boards look fantastic. Just another one of your talents. Good luck.
Thanks Peter, Yeah some people just can't see positives in much at all. Always look for gloom and doom.
lol trade ya we had a cold winter and spring in Canada now we’re in heat wave nice change but heat warnings are out
First frost this morning in our area, I was up too early to see it at home, Ill haver to ask the Neighbours later.
Hi Lance - great review would have liked to see you lift the rear of that John Deere with the bucket on the ground. No parts to repair it - seems to be the way of things these days of the throw away world. The old shafts left over from Land Rover water pump rebuilds made great drifts, still have and use them 60+ years later!
I dont think it could lift that but I am finding it very handy in my shed due to the reach of the jack and quick operation. Nothing I usually lift is very heavy though nowadays.
As well as a better hose - I would also like to see an excess flow valve installed in the fitting that screws into the base of the “lift bladder” - this would prevent an uncontrolled lowering event should this hose fail. With a heavy load the excess flow might trip if the lowering valve was opened fully etc however simply shutting the lowering valve would reset the excess flow valve and require you to lower at a slower rate. Many lpg, hydraulic etc systems are fitted with simple and cheap excess flow valves.
Yes they should all have them.
Thank you…
Welcome!
G Day Lance, another great informative video, you make it look easy, I did reseal mine after watching your video and your instructions work fantasically, the diesel shops are panicing. many thanks Barry
Thanks Barry, I had to block one shop due to the shitty comments that went on for months accusing me of ruining the industry. He was persistent if nothing else.
Same practice for a mf135?
Yes very similar
Lance, We have a Massey 1105 with the turbo 354. The pump has a pulsation damper on the front of it which is letting fuel out of the equalisation hole in the front of the damper and making a big mess. From my internet research it appears there are two different ones depending on the pump serial number. I will get that number later. Does QLD Tractor spares have these dampers and is there anything I should know about replacing it? Thanking you, Jeff.
We may still have them but we sell very few and if we don't have any in stock we could order some I'm sure. Call the 1300 850 097 number.
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks Lance.
G Day Lance, thanks very much for explaining the symptons of the incorrect spring settings, when I did my pump after watching your MF video's I lost the spring position as it came away before I could look in, the plate on the pump doesn't have that number on mine, so like you I looked for witness marks and rebuilt with what looked right, but next time I start the tractor I'll be more aware of the rev range and engine performance, great video as usual. many thanks Barry
Thanks Barry, Some times I dont know what I leave out as it is in my head ok and I forget to pass it on. I should come good with it all soon, lol.
Brilliant video.Well done Lance. 👌
Thankyou.
Great effort Lance. You always reduce people’s stress with your very detailed explanation including excellent camera angles. Again I say that I rebuilt my injection pump following your instructions. Thank you and good luck.
Thanks Peter.
Im in ireland and have what is a rare tractor here - a mf355. This video is exactly what i need to save me having to buy entire new rams so fingers crossed i can now do it and save myself a couple hundred in the process. Very well put together video with a nice mannerism from the host giving the viewer a calm relaxed - "we can do it" vibe. If more people had this type of knowledge it would both help waste and consumerism , save money and pass on very useful skills which unfortunately are dying out a bit more in every generation. It alao gives someone huge satisfaction and sense of usefulness and confidence when you can fix something with your own hands. So thank you very much - youre helping the world more than you know by making these vids! 🙏💪
Thankyou, that is my aim, to encourage people to try their own repairs, it does seem to work when I can break it down and make it look simple to have a go.
I've got a To 30 had to break it a part and the PTO had to cut t Into I'm leaning thanks
Yes sadly if that pto shaft twists that is about the only way to do it.
how two fit aback axcle outer wheel seal on ferguson t 20 tractor
Look in the making and repairing tractor parts playlist.
Is it the same pump sitting in an 3 cylinder disel, mf 135 1971 model ?
Yes but I did 2 videos on the 135 pump in the 135 6 speed playlist videos 14 and 15
Thanks for the answer 🙂. I have 8 speed not an multipower. but maybe it's just the gearbox which is the only difference on the tractors.
@@ulfrogeriversen2123 yes the engine is the same
Excellent couple of videos Lance! Great job, good as new!
Thank you very much!
Great job Lance. I found it interesting to see how you made it all happen again. I was glad to follow your instructions ages ago and get my old MF 30 going. Great job. Thank you. Good luck.
I seem to do a lot of these but I only filmed this one as it was a different brand of tractor, still very similar.
Thank you Lance, a few weird and wonderful examples amongst this lot ay?
Yes the next QHR in only a month away so there should be some more vids from there.
I have a 175 Massey and the pto shaft doesn't turn. Could you tell me where to start troubleshooting it?
Look up at the front shaft and clutch through the inspection cover and go from there.
Hello. I have a John Deere 3650 and I recently rebuilt the transmission. I changed discs, plates, o-rings, rubber rings from the hi low case, I also changed the pump in the transmission, I put a new one but it's on the aftermarket, I changed segments on the power take-off absolutely everything. I have problems with the steering and with the arms on the back, it is hard to lift and turns with knots. If I remove the cover from the gearbox and connect the two pipes between them with a hose, the steering works perfectly and with the arms on the back, when I put the cover on, the steering and the arms on the back no longer work. What could be the cause? Thank you!
On the shift cover there is two plugs on the rh side of it, put a 300psi gauge in the front one and check all functions and see if the pressure just drops away with one particular one on. It does sound like a leak in there somewhere, but you will need to test things to know exactly where you should look.
Will be working through this task on a 47' 2N tomorrow. Appreciate you and your knowledge. Thanks!
Have fun!
Saludos hermano estoy en Venezuela quisiera que me ayudarás con mi tractor JD e mi primera vez con maquinaria
What is wrong with it?
Thanks for your video , very clear to understand and good close up shots. Now I can start work on my Ferguson 35 pump. Tony UK
Glad it helped
G Day Lance that was a lovely walk through an amazing field of beautifull tractors, must admit I do like the smaller ones better, the big ones just became too industrial for me, many thanks Barry
Glad you enjoyed it, I like the smaller ones myself nowadays.
Very helpful and well made video. Thank you! I’d had my PTO shaft out and the collar fell off. Had to remove the cover and fish it out with a magnet. First time I’d ever removed the PTO shaft and the cover so I was lost haha.
I have done similar but fished it out with a piece of strong wire.
Nice signs Lance, no 2 is the go. $120 for 8 x 4 sheet seems very reasonable, initially I thought that was for a A4 size piece. Nice stew, thanks, enjoy your week.
Totally agree this stuff in nice and cheap and very easy to work with.
I replaced the hydraulic pumps on my 175 Massey Ferguson and I still don't have any hydraulics. The pump is not turning. Can you tell me what turns the pump what the problem might be?
There is a small, splined sleeve that drives it and it has a split pin to hold it in place. Perhaps the pin broke and it has slid forward. Im just guessing though really.
I look forward to your stews every Tuesday. Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
G Day Lance another great stew, you wouldn't believe it, I've just finished editing a video from last weeks visit to Marshall Smart and i'm talking about your injector tester, we had to put an injector back in the block to loosen the top cap and I was trying to explain to Marshall about the metal box yours sits on with the two studs and hole to ease the loosening of caps and nozzles, when you do your injector vid could you give us a quick walk around the box it sits on, please. many thanks Lance Barry
G Day Barry, Yes Ill will do a show and tell on the injector tester for sure, it's out on the bench already so it won't be too hard at all. Hes handy so Im sure he could knock one up easily.
Hi Bundy A question - Where do you source the small plastic oil bottle from that you use often use when assembling parts etc? I have a similar one but don’t remember where or how I acquired it. Find the plastic bottle very useful and so much more convenient than an oil can. Have in the past used a Shearer’s hand piece oil bottle. Enjoy your videos - As I have two 82 mm bore TEA’s, one FE35 deluxe with 3 cyl Perkins, one dismantled FE35 petrol, an early Kubota 2402 DT with a 4 in 1, Kubota 1.8 tonne excavator, and finally an as new Apollo (Chinese) 40 hp with 4 in 1 it was so cheap it followed me home, surprisingly it does work well. Nearly forgot the two Ford 2N tractors and a Zetor 6245. One of the TEA’s is on club rego and used on Tractor Treks etc Cheers Stuart
The oil pots are a Pressol brand and I get them from Sparex. The Sparex part number is S.4243. I always thought a little Ford 2n or 8n etc would fit into my collection well.
@@BundyBearsShed Thank you for response
Great stew Lance. Good to see that the planning for the rally has already started. It is always good to have a look around the shed and surrounds in the videos. $ 35 per night for facilities such as you describe seems reasonable to me but we are always looking for something a little cheaper. Good luck.
Thanks 👍 I might do a drive around the ground video. The whole ground is quite impressive.
Great Stew Lance, great views from the shed! Good job with the signs, very tidy job! The MF20 bonnet and grill is coming along very nicely, will you replace the decals or not?
G Day Charles, Not at this stage, if I get to a full paint job I will but for now it is just a bit of a tidy up.
Great video loved the Ali sheet ,never seen it before. It would really quite a horse float down
Yes I think so too!
I use that Aluminium composite panel on horse trailers and car trailers. I buy it through SAS. They are national wide and about $80 a sheet. You can get them in every colour you can think of. Good product 👌 👍
Thanks for the info! I checked them out but I need to freight it from Brisbane so the freight cubes out so if I cant buy bulk my sign bloke is a better option for me.
@BundyBearsShed you should see the colour range available. All the spectums and gloss gold and silver would suit your plaques. I mean mirror finish chrome and gold. Hopefully it's helpful mate.
@@mickwatson2177 yeah I had a look after you mentioned them, great range for sure.
Does the dick side on the pressure plate face the flywheel on the 2130 tractor the same as the 1640 tractor?
Yes
I've got a Massey Ferguson 30 D and the only thing wrong is it has a couple of bosses busted out under the dash. Which makes it impossible to steer. I want to weld some studs into the bosses. What do ya think?
Send a pic to bundybearsshed@gmail and Ill have a look.
G Day Lance, just the job, just getting home from Aberdeen after visitng Marshall for a week and needed something to chill down to, traffic was crap and I see you've got a new video out, bottle of wine and Lance nothing could be better. cheers many thanks Barry
G Day Barry, Im with you on that, a sip of red and a bit of UA-cam is very calming.
Hello Bundy. I rebuilt my pump and put it back on. It is now running away when I crank it. The throttle doesn’t help at all. Blowing tons of white smoke and extremely high idle. Is it out of time or something else wrong?
It sounds like you have the top spring in the wrong hole and / or a sticky metering valve.
My steering shaft had caged bearings and my repair kit came with loose ball bearings is there a difference thank you
No I dont believe so.
Very informative video Great job Lance.. Thankyou for making your videos very easy and understandable for the lay person....
Glad you enjoyed it
Lance, I fitted a grease nipple where you did and found it fouled up the fan cowl and unable to see the nipple at at all, did you have that problem ??.
I think I ended up fitting a 90deg nipple from memory, it's been a while back now
Thanks Lance.@@BundyBearsShed
